Robert Vigh

Robert Vigh is a native Floridan and one of six children from a Catholic home. Rob grew up in central Florida where he learned to work on American muscle cars and play baseball and football with his brothers and twin sister. He is a dual graduate of Florida State University, earning a Bachelor of Science and a Juris Doctor with honors. Rob met Cathy his wife of over thirty years while attending undergrad at Florida State University, the pair are Seminole fans and share three sons: Garrett, Gavin, and Cameron. Rob is an avid baseball fan, dog lover, and enjoys boating and fishing with his family.

Rob has extensive knowledge of the law and varied practices. Over his 27-year career, he has successfully tried cases in federal and state court and has lead counsel experience with class action lawsuits and representing appellants and appellees at the state and federal appellate level.

Trial Experience:

More than 25 years of civil litigation experience; lead counsel in over one hundred non-jury trials involving all areas of business and commercial litigation representing Hospitals, Physicians, Insurance Companies, Lenders, Banks, Physicians, Physician groups, small business owners, and individuals.

Jury Trial Experience:

Lead trial counsel in multiple jury trials representing civil plaintiffs and defendants.

Transactional Experience:

Extensive experience with informal dispute resolution including administrative appeals from H.M.O. and E.R.I.S.A. plan denials; Medicare appeals on behalf of a physician on denied claims, and arbitration through the American Arbitration Association. Also have experience drafting contracts, business organizational documents, complicated settlement agreements, and negotiation of managed care agreements.

Class Action Experience:

A lead defense attorney in two state court and three federal court class action lawsuits. Issues involved defending the reasonableness of hospital charges, and alleged Fair Debt Collection Practices Act lawsuits. Defeated class certification and prevailed on the merits in each case.

Appellate Experience:

Lead appellate attorney on multiple appeals as Appellant, and Appellee, as well as Petitioner and Respondent on Writs of Certiorari. Drafted all types of appellate pleadings, motions, briefs, and petitions. Presented oral arguments on several appeals.

ADMINISTRATIVE EXPERIENCE

Trained newly admitted attorneys; developed word processing macro/ and merge document templates and algorithms increasing office efficiency. Oversight of computer projects to convert to imaged documentation, storage, and retrieval. Network administration of the local area network maintaining the functionality of the system, creating, and designing a website.
